The order of study and the method
Peace and blessings,
“He would say,
A five-year-old boy reads,
A ten-year-old boy,
Thirteen years of Mitzvot,
“A fifteen-year-old boy studying Talmud”
To what extent is the order of study and the method binding? If it were to be determined that a more effective order of study would be found (in my opinion, it has long been found), is it possible to casually discard the above order, and in addition, why did the Sages not mention secular studies?
Kind regards, Benjamin
Absolutely not. These are recommendations, and certainly today the situation is very different (there are databases, the form of study is different, the number of essays and commentaries is different). For example, in my opinion, nowadays Lamagres Inish and Hadar Lamisbar are the same.
They did not mention secular studies because they were concerned with the path of Torah study.
* Maybe you mean – nowadays to the Inish Massif and Hadar to the Maghers (?)
So-and-so, maybe you mean – to explain (?)
Indeed, indeed.
