The Periphery of Halacha
I just finished listening to this series of lessons. At the end, you attack those who introduce halakhic peripherals into the ruling, such as, “It is clear that this is forbidden, but it has no source, so it is from the rabbis,” etc. Ultimately, all the halakhic peripherals you brought are lenient, while those you came out against are peripherals to make it stricter. I would like to understand whether, in your opinion, there is a place to introduce peripherals into the ruling, also to make it stricter? If so, can you give examples of the matter?
Neither to ease nor to make it stricter. Halacha is Halacha and what is outside of it is not Halacha. Beyond that, there is no clear definition of what is a lenient ruling and what is stricter. Usually, every ruling has two sides: it eases in one way and makes it stricter in another.
In the lesson there you gave a definition of lenient and stricter whether it allows more options or fewer, according to this rule, all the examples are lenient while all the dogmas you came out against are stricter
I answered the question.
I disagree with your argument here, but as mentioned it is unrelated to the discussion.
