The Third Path – The Damages of the National Religious Path

שו”תCategory: generalThe Third Path – The Damages of the National Religious Path

Hello Rabbi,

I understood that the third path would offer an alternative to the two existing main paths (ultra-Orthodox and national religious).
I would love to understand from the rabbi what harm he identifies from the public/national religious leadership.
They seem to be following Torah/work/military principles, so I don’t see any lack or harm to society.

I would be happy to explain. thanks.

My problem with the Haredim is not the army. It is one symptom of a much deeper problem. Therefore, just because the Haredim are incorporating the army does not mean there is no problem. My problem is with the Haredim and not with the religious-nationalists. It is just that the Haredim are perceived as the exponents of religious Zionism and its leaders. The majority of the public that does not see them as such has no public voice. The Haredi is a very problematic concept in many ways (see column 19 on sectarianism). Just think of a situation where a great man of your generation sends a letter of support to President Katsav, who was convicted of rape. The man is deranged and his connection to reality is nonexistent. And yet everyone sees him as their leader. Their attitude towards women and academia and of course those with other views, their conduct towards the Chief Rabbinate, their cooperation with the Haredim in the coalition (which is of course accompanied by a lot of feelings of inferiority, completely justified), the theological Marxism that sees demons under every green tree. Their theological delusions that guide them in making decisions and so on and so forth. A bunch of delusional people.
