Hello, is it possible to forgo the custom of observing six hours and observe a shorter period of time that is more appropriate for the interval between meals that is customary in the modern lifestyle?

It is commonly believed that an Ashkenazi can, but a Sephardi cannot, make a hetra because the author wrote to keep six hours (or at least five and a half). But in my opinion, a hetra can also be made for Sephardim, provided there is a reason for it (opening and repentance). For example, when you accepted this custom, you did not know that there were other options and that it was a custom, and that it was difficult for you, etc.
