The words of education in hearing the voice of the wise

As is known, the commandment to do whatever is ordered was only stated upon the Sanhedrin and also upon the sages of the Gemara, and from there on, the sages do not have a sweeping authority that binds the entire Jewish people in all matters of law. However, some wanted to claim (the Haredim, as is known) that the obligation was stated in every generation and also in matters of opinion. And their source is the Book of Education, which interprets the commandment in this way. In one of your lessons (I think in a series of Torah and Rabbinic lessons), you referred to this education and claimed that it does not mean that in a generation one must blindly obey every claim that comes to their mind, but you did not explain what the interpretation of his words was. Can you explain what the education intended in this commandment and did you refer to this in one of the lessons?
