Those who held Crodaicus
Today I studied the first pages of the chapter “Those Who Grasp It,” which presents remedies, most of which are for the eyes – calf’s eyes, seem far from helpful.
In the Rabbi’s opinion, have I fulfilled the commandment of Talmud Torah by doing this? Is there any Torah-like relationship to these pages?
And this made me wonder whether, assuming that there were useful remedies there, there is a “Talmud Torah” in this? Is it possible, in principle, to read a quote from the remedies in the G.M. in the services? Could changing the wording from what appears in the G.M. have an effect on this?
Thank you very much!
In my opinion, this does not constitute Talmud Torah, nor does it constitute Talmud in the study of facts, true or false, and also in legends in general. As for the question of whether these remedies work, I am not a doctor, but as far as I know, no.
In the Rabbi's opinion, are there no laws regarding this that pertain to contempt? Reading in the bathroom, for example? Burning the text, etc.?
If these things are not Torah, these laws are not relevant to them.
