To deliver a kosher product that I do not trust

שו”תTo deliver a kosher product that I do not trust
asked 4 years ago

I happened to come across a meat product with kosher that is generally not trusted in my circle at all, and there is no doubt that although the supervision procedures are in order, the actual implementation is so flawed that hairs stand on end at the sound of the words, and even if ten percent of the words are correct, God forbid. Is there anyone before me who is blind in giving to another? I will clarify that there is no halachic dispute between me and my friend, but only a dispute in reality based on various estimates of what is going on there. And according to the rumors that I hold as true, all of Israel is forbidden to eat there. But my friend holds other rumors in reality and thinks that it is permissible. Is there anyone before me who is blind in the dispute in reality? I believe this piece came from a pig, and my friend believes it came from a cow. Is it permissible for me to present it to him and inform him of my opinion that he knows it is from pork? Thank you very much.

A very interesting question. If the dispute was in Halacha, this is the Gemara in Sukkah 10b and the Ritva there, as I have elaborated in several places. But here the dispute is in reality and not in Halacha, and there is room to be stricter and not to allow it. I tend to think that you are not allowed to trip up your friend. Just check whether your opinion is indeed solid and based on reliable information. There are hair-raising stories about every observation. It depends on who you ask and what circle you hang out in.
