Torah study
Hello Rabbi, I want to study Torah and I also really want to have a basic level of Halacha. What do you think is better, studying Gemara carefully or directly studying Halacha? And also, what do you think about studying Gemara with Steinsaltz or Schottenstein?

One can study Gemara carefully and, in addition, spend about an hour or half an hour a day studying halachic books.
You can study with auxiliary interpretations. It’s not that bad.

And why not the other way around?
To study Halacha carefully.
Which includes the Tur and the Bis,
And thus touch on the Gemara and the Rishonim.
Although not in the order of the Shas, but in the order of the Halacha topics
Because then you are their prisoner.
