Unique in sailing
Hello Rabbi,
A group of people, 7 men and 1 woman, sailed on a yacht to Cyprus for 30 hours. Is there a prohibition against yichud in this?
Of course, yes.
But I saw that Wikipedia says this:
According to most Ashkenazi rabbis, if a woman is in a place with at least two Jewish men who are not involved in incest, it is permissible for them to be together.
Oren, I don't know what the definition of "fornication" is.
Those who join the cruise are people who participate as an experiment towards obtaining an international license, there is no prior acquaintance between them.
I don't know about myself whether I am a fornicator or not, and certainly not about others.
Should we assume that someone who wears a kippah is not a "fornicator"? Or according to Sabbath observance? Is there another criterion?
I would appreciate the Rabbi's comment on the barrier of fornication.
I will just point out that in Haredi society it is accepted that someone who uses a smart phone, and certainly a phone that is not ‘filtered’, is defined as fornication. And this is according to the ruling of the ‘greatest of generations’.
Apparently, there is a different barrier for Mera Da'tra.
A person who is sexually immoral in this regard is someone who is afraid of becoming a lion. It is impossible to give a clear halachic boundary here.
A bit of a strange definition. After all, the difference between a promiscuous person and someone who is not a promiscuous person is two men and one woman. But one man and one woman are also prohibited in a non-promiscuous person.
This means that even in a non-promiscuous person there is a fear that he will reach a lion (since there is no guardian of the nakedness), so how do you say that only someone who is a promiscuous person has a fear that he will reach a lion?
Anyone who is concerned that he will reach puberty in the aforementioned situation.
