Do you trust the Eruvim who exist today, most of whom rely on Rashi’s method, which has no source in the Gemara (this is what I saw in Mayari), that the public domain is just an encroached place where 600,000 people can pass through?

Rabbi, why do we have no choice? I mean, what necessity is there in mixing, after all, we can manage reasonably well without it.

Abroad, people get along without mixing. Why can't we?
We can, but it's complicated, and if there's something to rely on, then there's no reason.
Okay, so it's not that we have no choice, but the argument is that because there is a "lenient" opinion (even though it has no source in the Gemara itself, to the best of my understanding), you rule accordingly?
But our rabbi taught us that pragmatism should not be introduced when seeking the truth... and if it is permitted then it is permitted and if not then it is not, regardless of the consequences and benefits.
Pragmatism is not a fundamental consideration, but a pragmatic consideration is legitimate when choosing between existing halachic options. Like a cola in a time of need.
