Veganism and Kosher Abroad

שו”תCategory: HalachaVeganism and Kosher Abroad
asked 7 years ago

peace!
1. How should a vegan behave in accordance with kosher laws abroad?
2. How can one tell if coffee is kosher? That is, what are the criteria and what does a person who wants to buy coffee from a non-Jew do? How does he check for kashrut?
Thanks in advance!

I’m not familiar with the factual situation and it’s worth asking the Chief Rabbinate. Even in vegan food, there are things that concern kosher: worms, foreskin from abroad that was banned by the Ministry of Culture, just wine, and of course, utensils that were used for non-vegan food.
