What are we looking for here?
A serious question, even for the religious Jew who believes, what is there to look for in this country, what reason does he have not to go abroad assuming he has the means or a sought-after profession? The prices here are sky-high, it’s insanely hot here, the scenery here is not the most spectacular to say the least, terrorist attacks, children are raised here knowing that one day they will be sent to the battlefield. The ultra-Orthodox continue to grow at a dizzying pace and only add to the burden of security and the economy, not to mention the homeless. What is left here that is considered good?

Miki,
If you were a single doctor/software engineer, would you emigrate from here? To where? Don't you rather despise American culture? Do you think you wouldn't suffer there?
Why are you asking me? How does this relate to what was written above? I wouldn't move now and probably not as a software engineer either. And by the way, not because of a disagreement with this or that culture (I don't despise American culture. Not at all. I despise certain currents in it, just as I despise certain currents in Israeli culture). I want to live here. And there's also another consideration of anti-Semitism, etc.
Mikhi,
In your opinion, is the commandment to settle in the Land of Israel a commandment like all the other commandments? Does it not have special importance? If a person can make money abroad and thus fulfill the commandment of charity, does this in your opinion justify a move?
Indeed, it is a mitzvah like all mitzvot. There is no single answer to the last question. There is a prohibition against leaving the land, but the necessity of the mitzvah is permissible. Do the mitzvah of charity in the land.
But abroad I can earn 1000 times more and give 1000 times more to charity.
successfully
Just don't forget to keep the commandments that depend on Belgium.
In your opinion, are the “suspended commandments” still in effect today? Haven’t they expired? What kind of consideration is this for staying in the country?
