What do we have to do with his faith, according to Rashi, and according to the G.M., he is the greatest believer…
She wondered why the GM thought that way.
In other words, understanding is above reading, and perhaps even everything that requires listening to reading is understanding, because understanding is the greatest and most important teacher.
On the other hand, the one who says there is no resurrection of the dead from the Torah, Rashi immediately writes that even though he believes that the dead will live (where does he get it from? From his explanation…), he only says that it is not written in the Torah (he was not convinced by the G.M.’s attempts to prove it and rather believes each time precisely the G.M.’s opinion that rejects that teaching). He has no part in the beginning of the dead, because what do we have to do with his belief?
Just a moment, but in the G.M. they praised the explanation more than the Bible and he thinks there will be an explanation. So apparently according to the G.M. he is the ideal believer and according to Rashi he has no share in the world to come?
