What is considered Torah in the Haftza?
Hello,
What is the legal boundary for Torah passages that are said to be the word of God in that they are forbidden to be recited in services, that they are said to be superior to the commandment of saving a life (in the event that it can be performed by someone else), that they are said to teach prayer, that they are said to be against everyone, that it is said that for the sake of the building of the Temple, the infants of the house of Rabban are not exempted from their study, etc….
Is it permissible to enter the bathroom with a Maharal or Ramchal (assuming there are no verses or laws mentioned there) in the same way that it is permissible to enter with a book on Aristotle’s Metaphysics or Kant’s book on his Categorical Imperative?
Is it permissible to sit or step in front of the aforementioned books or even use them as a bed?
In my opinion, in terms of content, there is no difference between these books and Kant or Aristotle. But there are verses there, so in practice there is a difference.
If I censor all the references and verses that appear there, is it permissible to use them in the bathroom?
I wrote that I think so.
Is there anything that you disagree with with appropriate arguments?
