Is it permissible to study on Tisha B’Av: secular subjects if you enjoy them, such as history, arithmetic, biology, learning chess, learning about sports, etc.

Distraction from fasting is undesirable. But if you can’t stand lamentation and boredom all day, I think it’s better to engage in worthwhile things.
