What is the point of preserving the memory of the Holocaust?

Hello Rabbi,
Is there value in preserving the memory of the Holocaust?
I can’t find any moral justification for this, except perhaps to satisfy the Zionist Jew’s psychological need to say to the Gentiles, “Do you see why we deserve a state?”
Or perhaps to justify the theory of the weak and poor Jew that we love so much…

I also think that this is being exaggerated. Part of it is empathy for the survivors, and another part is educational to prevent future acts and events. If the world is required to remember, we should do so too. I also think that part of it is a Jewish vacuum in the general public. They look for Jewish elements in their identity and cling to any event or characteristic that can connect them to a Jewish identity regardless of religion and religious commitment. Therefore, I think the consciousness of Holocaust remembrance is weaker the more religious you are.

I really enjoyed your explanation of the fact that the more religious a Jew is, the weaker their memory consciousness. Interesting point.

“The more religious a Jew is, the weaker the consciousness of memory” This is the first time I've heard this ”fact”.

Wondering, Holocaust remembrance consciousness. And doc.
You don't have to rely on me. Just go out and check the reality. Who establishes more museums, dedicates days of remembrance, makes trips to Poland, writes books and generally in everyday discourse. I have no doubt that the fact I described is true. In addition, the secular pathos in the discourse on the Holocaust is shrouded in a sense of sacredness, like a Hasid who talks about his Rebbe or a Maschich who describes the experience of the unique before the redemption of Peter Hamor.

I now remembered that I wrote about this in column 7, at:
