Why do we wait between meat and milk?
Nowadays, why do we wait between meat and milk? Apparently the flavors don’t exist today. If meat remains between the teeth on the one hand, then you can brush and clean properly. And if flavor remains on the other hand, then you can transfer the flavor by cleaning it sufficiently or by using other foods and the like.
It’s not because of the teeth, or the distance, or because of digestion.
So why do we wait and not eat one after the other (and not together)? This is, ostensibly, the law from the Torah.
Are you sure you read what I wrote?
Effi, until you ask “why is it necessary”, ask “is it really necessary”. See the response to Sekmon in Ashishisht (Arbel) Part 1, Section 1, page 29.
And as you say, it is indeed the opinion of the B”G, R”T, Ravi”a, R”a, HaG”m, Ba”m and Ya'iraim.
If it were for digestion, one would have to wait between milk and meat, and there is no need for any wait between milk and meat.
Because milk is digested quickly.
