Will God forgive me for being an atheist?

In lesson 41 of the Faith series, you talked about how it is possible that I may be wrong about being Jewish and not Christian, but God will not punish me for it because it is not possible to examine all the alternatives during my lifetime. The question is, do you think it is worth investing so much energy and adapting an entire life path according to a theory that there is a very reasonable chance that I will be exempted because I followed it? After all, the assumption that “everything should follow personal logic” does not really apply here when there are billions of other people who followed personal logic and are 100% sure of the righteousness of their path, so there must be errors that we do not notice.

One could ask this in a more simplistic way: If I ascend to heaven and tell God that I took into account the likelihood that I would go astray on the path I chose and therefore chose not to keep anything – wouldn’t I then receive an exemption?…

I don’t know what you will be exempted from. But the reason for serving God is not the fear of punishment but the obligation to act in a true way. Therefore, you must do what you think is reasonable. The claims of guilt are only claims for mitigation of punishment.
