Women and Hanukkah Candle
Hello!
Is it appropriate for women to light Hanukkah candles from the “mehadrin men mehadrin” rule? Is there a distinction between single and married women in this? (The question is, of course, according to the rulings of our Ashkenazi brothers)
Thanks in advance!

Apparently, it depends on the dispute between Rashi and Tos regarding the commandments of the rabbis that time dictated. It is true that it is written there that they were also in the same miracle, and therefore women are obligated by all opinions. And since they are obligated, I see no logic in dividing them between them and men. The Jewish custom that women do not light up is really unclear to me, and I see no reason or need to act this way.
By the way, your name suggests that you also belong to “our Ashkenazi cousins.”
