Why don't you see the point in this person claiming that the Torah is a rag and a piece of crap? He's really making a mockery of it and needs someone to address his words.

Why, because you have no way to contradict his words? It's interesting that no rabbi is willing to debate with him, after all, it is written: "Know what you will answer an heretic."

The Rabbi would be happy to hear why (if I understood correctly) you changed your mind on the matter.
