Yoke of commandments
Peace, Your Honor,
I contacted you by email yesterday to inquire about the reason for accepting the yoke of God upon myself.
You told me you couldn’t answer the question of how I should act if I ate because God is bad.
So for some reason you avoided answering the first question.
Why do I have to keep the Torah and commandments just because God commanded it?
If you could answer or direct me to your material on the subject I would be grateful.

I wrote about it in the first book in the trilogy. A preliminary version is in the fifth notebook here on the site.
In short, I don’t know how to answer your question. If you mean benefit, there are benefits (described there). But that’s not a good reason to obey. The right reason is that it’s the truth. How can you explain to someone why to do the truth? When I explain, you’ll ask why listen to that explanation?
