You will not lose your strength, nor will you be able to escape.
Peace be upon you, my rabbi and teacher.
Two questions on my mind today:
A. Do you occasionally think about how much and how many people you influence (I estimate that mostly for the better, God willing), without even being aware of it? People you’ve never met, seen, or heard of, and yet you’ve changed their lives, sometimes from end to end.
on. Aren’t you exhausted from the endless answering of the SSA? Even I sometimes have the feeling that the questions are just repetitive, or stupid, or both. Maybe this is one of them. And in any case, it must not be easy to do this every day, for seven years, maybe more. What gives you the strength to continue?
And with all that said, this is an opportunity to say a huge thank you for everything you have contributed to me over the years (four already, I think). We have only met once, but I read your writings eagerly and listen to your lessons with great pleasure; at least during the times when I am granted relative freedom from my studies at the yeshiva and university. You have influenced me in a very significant way, which is difficult for me to even describe, and I will not belittle you. In short, I will say, as the proverb says/salvation, that thanks to you I have a kippah on my head and a head under the kippah 🙂
