Regarding the concealment of the face

Hey Miki
Although I have already presented my thoughts on the subject of concealment of the face to you in the past, I did not do so in detail. This time I would like to ask in a focused manner what your opinion is on my thought that the disasters that befell the people of Israel are an expression of God’s displeasure with the fact [omission?!] that the people of Israel chose to focus on preserving their unique identity instead of delving deeper and understanding one thing from another – that our main role is to improve the worldview of other nations, and in this way also improve their behavior.
For example, is it fate that the transfer of faith in one God to pagans had to be “tempered” by means of the “Holy Trinity”?! Or the acceptance of monotheism in a version that requires accepting Muhammad as the last of the prophets, with all the attendant problems?
Is there anything in our sources that can refute my claim?
This reminds me of the arguments I had with my ex-partner, who argued exactly on this matter: We will behave as we are commanded, and we will be different from the Gentiles. The Gentiles will see our lifestyles and that is how they will learn from us how to behave.
At that time, I didn’t yet understand [or rather, I hadn’t yet formulated it for myself] that separation creates an emotional barrier, and often the result of this separation is resentment.

And I return to the matter of hiding the face, and I fantasize about how God, blessed be He, gave up in despair and cried out: What wretched people the Jews are!
Don’t they understand that separation will only cause hatred?!
If the scholars had devoted more intellectual and creative energy to figuring out ways to reduce violence in our world instead of focusing on the practices of impurity, kosher, and Shabbat, perhaps our world would look different!
So for now, all the best to you.

First, sometimes being different is the right basis for influence. Otherwise we would look like them and they wouldn’t look like us. Secondly, there are other values besides the influence on the Gentiles, and perhaps they need the distinction.
