Following receipt of a pamphlet on Halacha and reality
Hello, hello. It does indeed look very interesting. I already have several comments on the content, and I’m sorry. I will change this chapter when I have the chance.
In the meantime, as a token of gratitude to Mr. for sending me his pamphlet, I will add two grains, even though I only glanced at it for a second, and if Mr. responds to this later in his remarks, I will ask for forgiveness.
A. The Mishak states at the beginning of his book that one should not guard against something that is not visible to the eye. He attributed this to the fact that the Torah was not given to the ministering angels. Although there are two meanings, one must distinguish between them, and Anad Mer did not distinguish between them: 1. Because the creatures in the water are small, it is not possible to prohibit them, since humans need to drink water and cannot filter. However, this explanation is not based on the fact that the creatures are not visible without a magnifying glass, but rather on the fact that there are many of them and it is impossible to filter them. And from this explanation, there was room for permission even in the case of creatures that are visible to the eye, but they are numerous and cannot be filtered (for example, in broccoli, where it is difficult to filter the worms even if they are large and visible to the eye). 2. There is also room for permission because devices are not considered a slander, and this is a completely different explanation. And in this case, the reason that the Torah was not given to the ministering angels is not relevant at all, the matter of the ministering angels is similar to this. Do only the ministering angels have auxiliary devices? I have never heard of an angel using a magnifying glass. Humans today have devices, so why not require them to be used? And is what is seen through glasses also not considered a vision? This is also an unnatural device.
B. Regarding Mr. Barish’s claim in his book against those who achieve “Gebra Agbra Karamit”, I was puzzled by Gebra Rava’s strength, since his words are also written on the basis of quoting sources (the Tefai and others) and not on the basis of a purely theoretical argument. And if it is possible to bring a Gebra who believes as you do as evidence for your words, why would it not be possible to bring a Gebra who disagrees with you as a counterargument to your words? And Tzala.
Good luck and all the best,

Anyone who assumes that the great men and righteous men of the past did not fail to eat something unclean, even by mistake or by force (God does not bring about a fault in righteous men. And a fault is not a sin, but all foods are unclean), can conclude from this that your need to drink water does not mean eating something unclean, even when it is not filtered through a half-micrometer filter.
“And the Torah was not given to the ministering angels”, meaning that in the days of our ancestors, in order to distinguish the unicellular organisms in the water, you had to be a ministering angel, and the Torah was not given to the ministering angels.
(My heart tells me that you will not like the explanation, but perhaps that is what the author intended)

Why? This is certainly a possible explanation. But then it would have to be linked to the explanation that even in the waiting of the righteous, the Blessed One does not bring a fault through them or through the ministering angels. After all, even if the Torah were given only to the ministering angels, the righteous still do not bring a fault through them.
Although this very explanation (that they do not bring a fault through them) does not seem right to me, although of course they used it quite a bit. In my opinion, it is not a fault if they did the best they could and understood, and there is nothing preventing us from also doing the best we could and understood. If we today know how to identify the blue, would we not put it on the tzitzit because our ancestors did not have the blue?

If the discussion here is about single-celled organisms in water, then there is no reason to think that they are considered animals in terms of forbidden foods, any more than plants.
