Questions about faith and law

Rabbi, I have 3 unrelated questions:

1. The rabbi said in the class that the concept of “God” means someone who must do as He says. And I wanted to ask why then is the Creator of the world God? Why, because He created the world, must we do as He says?
2. Is there any problem with praying only standing in the minyan and praying the rest of the prayer individually?
3. Is it permissible (from a halachic perspective) to read digital books (photocopies) that were photographed without the permission of the publisher and the author? If not, is it permissible to read the rabbi’s books in this way?
