Not the racist, but the candidate for the position of Chief Rabbi. Did you know him in Yeruham? If so, and if we ignore for a moment your known opinion on the institution of the Chief Rabbi, what do you think of his selection as the IDF candidate for Chief Rabbi?

I just sent him my best wishes, and wrote to him that I never dreamed in my wildest dreams that I would send good wishes to a candidate for Chief Rabbi. I wrote to him that I would be happy to be wrong and discover that this institution has a cure, and its purity does not distil a fracture. But I am very skeptical.
Rabbi Meir is a very worthy person in my opinion. A good and wise man, but unfortunately, the location seems to be a factor.
Regardless of this, he is not the candidate of religious Zionism, but rather the candidate of a few ultra-Orthodox creatures (with a few additions) who appointed themselves as representatives of the entire Zionist public. But that’s another discussion.

“He is not the candidate of religious Zionism but the candidate of some haredim creatures”. Can you please explain your words? Many thanks in advance

Sociologically, those who are also identified by the public as Haredi strongly oppose him (identifying him with Rabbi Goren):

I think this points to a flaw in the rabbi's theory that everyone who is to the rabbi's right is Haredi. There are also shades of gray in the world.

Haredi,
The majority of the entire collection of rabbis who gathered in the committee to locate a candidate for religious Zionism (certainly those who are in the leadership of this committee) are national Haredi, that is, Haredi who say Hillel on Independence Day. Therefore, to see the one who was chosen (who is a worthy and well-liked person by me) as the candidate for religious Zionism is a bad joke.

Y”D,
It seems to me that if you think for a minute, you will discover for yourself the flaws in your words (beyond the obvious flaw in everyone who uses the oxymoron “flaw in the theory of the hands of Abraham”).

Are most of the members of the committee nationalist ultra-Orthodox?! Are you serious? Rabbis Ariel, Lior, Blumtzwig, Dudkovitz, Burstein, Bigel, Gotl, Ram, Weitman, Carmel, Medan, Pearl, Kola, Shilat, are nationalist ultra-Orthodox?! And this is from someone I know, I assume there are others who cannot be classified as Haredi and I simply don't know them.

If you are against something (Bibi/rabbinate) then you paint everything black (literally)

ג replied 2 years ago

You're kidding, right? Aren't Rabbis Lior and Ariel Haredi?! Define Haredi.

ג replied 2 years ago

Same with Rabbis Bornstein, Dudkevich, etc. Only the list you presented has a respectable amount of hardcore Haredim.

The leadership that led it was all like that (except maybe Rabbi Blumentzweig). That's what I meant.
