Is Emotional Intelligence a Defined Concept?

Question

Hello
Do you agree with the claim that there is no such thing as multiple intelligences (according to the simple and accepted definition of intelligence)? In other words, do you think a person can be brilliant in Talmud and not brilliant in mathematics, or not—and if this exists, it is probably due to other reasons unrelated to intelligence (for example, he invests more in Talmud and therefore is more accomplished there, but the same ability exists in mathematics)? Likewise regarding physics as opposed to mathematics. And in general, how do you define a smart person?
These thoughts came to me mainly because of this very short video (7 minutes) by Roi Yozevitch (I’d be glad if the Rabbi would watch it and share his opinion).
Thanks in advance, and may you be sealed for a good year.

Answer

Obviously. Is it even possible to argue with this simple fact?
I don’t have a general definition of a smart person.
Since you didn’t even bother to link to the video you referred to, and since I don’t take assignments or homework, I won’t address the video. If you have a specific question, ask it here.
