Q&A: Regarding Rash”t’s article “The Theory of Countlessly Many Dimensions”
Regarding Rash”t’s article “The Theory of Countlessly Many Dimensions”
Question
Hello, honorable Rabbi. In the introduction to his article “The Theory of Countlessly Many Dimensions,” does Rash”t argue that a person uncovers dimensions—axes of existence—that exist in the reality outside him, and thus actually discovers or becomes aware of part of the dimensions included in the “thing-in-itself”? Or is the person the one who creates—generates—them in his consciousness? I simply heard that the Rabbi is familiar with the article, and I wanted, in my meagerness, to clarify the lack of clarity I have. I would also be very happy to know the Rabbi’s opinion on the matter. Thank you very much for the Rabbi’s wonderful act of kindness, and I apologize for the lack of clarity in the wording.
Answer
I don’t remember the exact formulation, but why assume that the dimensions are only within him himself? As far as I remember and understand, the dimensions are in the world itself (at least in the Kantian sense of phenomena).
