How Is Torah from Heaven?

Question

Hello Rabbi, in Bacteriology the Rabbi wrote that even if the Torah is late, that does not undermine faith, because there is a core of revelation and tradition. But according to the critics, there is no tradition, because everything was written at one time (the Deuteronomistic school). And it’s also impossible to say that this part is late and that part is not, because the whole Torah has a chiastic structure with a tight connection between the parts and sections (whether by an editor or not). So then what exactly did Moses bring down to us?

Answer

According to the critics, there is no reason to observe the Torah. But in my opinion they are wrong. What is the question?

Why are they wrong?

Do you want an essay here on biblical criticism?

To Itamar —
The Deuteronomistic school is an approach attributed to the authors of parts of the Hebrew Bible (Tanakh) (most of Deuteronomy and the Book of Kings, for example). But on the contrary, that itself makes the point: the documentary approach holds that there are additional schools and earlier sources as well (E and J, for example; regarding the Priestly source, there has been a sharp debate, with Kaufmann arguing against Wellhausen that it is earlier).
And in general, today the accepted approach in biblical scholarship is basically genre criticism 🙂
