Humans are machines with consciousness.

I watched a debate with Aviv about free choice, and I had to ask what you think about this concept and whether you have considered it:
In the debate you claimed that we are not machines, but I want to argue that we are, and present consciousness as something different from what you describe. First of all, it is not a soul, but consciousness. In this definition we remove everything that is not true about the "thing" and leave only the experience itself, which is the only thing that exists. So the brain has a special property, perhaps fundamental to reality, perhaps originating in the brain alone, that causes the brain to experience parts of itself. This way we can understand that consciousness does not make "choices", because it is spiritual by definition! It changes the functioning of the brain by making it "experience" itself.
In other words, he is a kind of recipient of experiential "feedback" after he is the one who produced the experience that was reflected in consciousness and returned to him.
In my opinion, this is how determinism can be easily explained and combined with consciousness.
Another point would be that the "I" does not really exist, but rather this feeling is also reflected in consciousness.
