Henry Tschappel Award
For years, the European Association for Social Psychology used to award a prestigious prize every year in the name of Henry Tschappel, who died about 40 years ago. The practice was canceled because about two years ago, evidence of sexual harassment he had committed surfaced.
Is such a sanction appropriate, or is it a kind of anachronism, since at the time society did not observe these things?

The question of whether it is appropriate is not related to changing standards. The decision is made today and is formulated based on considerations that concern today. As for the substance of the matter, it seems reasonable to me.
