Secondary education

Hello Rabbi,
 
Is there any point in studying Mishnayot, alone, without the Gemara? Only with a Breitnora, for example?
On the surface, it sounds like yes, but on the other hand, what is the value of learning? (If there is a 'learning' here at all)
