Court and judges today

I wanted to ask whether courts of law in our day do not care which parts of the Shulchan Arash they are entrusted with. I ask in general, do all the commandments of the Torah, from the Torah, apply to them? Such as, "You shall not do injustice in judgment," "You shall not be unjust to anyone," "Justice shall be pursued," and so on. All the commandments of the Torah that judges must uphold.

Good question. I don't know. It is clear that the spirit of the words also speaks to them. When they were appointed as dekamai's emissaries, the commentators disagreed on whether their authority to judge was from the Torah or from the rabbis. If it is from the Torah (and in my opinion it seems so), then it seems that all the prohibitions apply to them. If it is only the law of the rabbis, it must be discussed whether it is appropriate to prohibit such prohibitions from the Torah on the rabbinic judge.
