Does Freud's psychological interpretation of religion undermine its validity?
Freud claimed that religion was created to give people security and comfort in a chaotic world, so he had to invent a father figure like God who watches over him and protects him, and a paradise so that he would feel good about himself, but there is really no truth in it per se, but it is only "the opium of the masses" (as Marx claimed). Do you agree with this criticism? (I agree with it) and if so, do you think it directly undermines the validity of religion?

And Mashaleh claims that Freud's theory was invented to justify his absurd atheism. Do you agree with Mashaleh's criticism?
Do you agree that this criticism undermines Freud's thesis?
I suggest you think about and rephrase the question, if there is one.
