In fact, this is not a question that is your job or concern to answer. In a number of similar questions, I have seen you dismiss them on the grounds that you are not involved in psychology. And I understand this very well.
But I would still like to clarify this question, both because you probably have the necessary information and the appropriate understanding for it.

The question itself is quite simple, how do quite intelligent people speak nonsense and ill-tempered words, at a level that is lower than that of fools. And why should I speak in riddles? The great Haredi Jews are prone to very strange stupidity, I suppose I don't need to elaborate on that. Nadav Schnerb, in his article "Calling on Contemporary Haredi Women," compiled a nice collection of some of these cases.
For example, Rabbi Shteinman's opinion about the inhabitants of the Earth as "murderers, thieves, and without reason." Or his various claims about the spherical nature of the Earth versus the claim that it is square, (is he dividing between a view from above and a view from below?!) Rabbi Chaim Greenman's opinion about medicine, (there is none. And statistics are studies of heresy, which is actually a bold consistency from the principle of providence.) Rabbi Mazuz on the causes of the Holocaust, we did not spell the prayers correctly, therefore God did not accept them. Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky's rebuke of Shmuel Auerbach, "the old man of Mamre", on the question of what the difference is between his dispute about Rabbi Shteinman and any other dispute about conditions, "They were people, he is an animal.". Rabbi Schach's arguments against evolution, I prefer not to mention out of respect.
Statements on their behalf are characterized by superficiality and childishness, extreme apologetics, and a lack of thought. While these are people of halakhic and scholarly knowledge, exceptionally smart people, accustomed to analytical thinking, where does everything go when it comes to other matters, I am very puzzled by this, precisely because I value their honor.
