King Baran's request
According to your understanding of the law (that there is no need to introduce elements from the halakhah, etc.), I did not understand what was wrong with the people of Israel's request for a king? And the Rabbi explains in his sermons that the problem was that they only wanted general law and not halakhah. And according to your words (which you quoted from the Ritva), what is wrong with that?

Simply put, the problem was that they wanted a king like all the nations, not the actual demand for a king. This is a commandment from the Torah. And the disputes about this are ancient.
