Sabbath Laws
Hello Rabbi, two questions –
Is it permissible according to Halacha to play children's games on Shabbat? Such as board games, ball games, Lego, cubes, as well as spontaneous games with children such as playing with sticks and stones?
Second question – I saw that there are restrictions on riding a scooter on Shabbat, compared to riding a bicycle, which is prohibited, because it is built differently. What is the rabbi's opinion on the matter?
thanks

Too general a question. Each game is different. Sticks and stones are assigned.
Riding bicycles and scooters on Shabbat used to be prohibited. Although the prohibition is that it is not appropriate for the atmosphere of Shabbat and is not a specific prohibition. Some wanted to prohibit it out of fear that it would be corrected (and this is mainly for bicycles, not scooters), but in my opinion there is no basis for this because nowadays there is no authorized institution that can introduce new prohibitions.
