Counting the Children of Israel throughout the Bible
What is the point of counting the children of Israel throughout the Bible? Why does God require this to be done several times?
It sounds like there was an existential fear for the Israelites at that time, and as Rashi says, it was because of the evil eye.
I would love to understand things.
