Peace and blessings!
On page 148 you described Einstein's thought experiment. You wrote there: "From the perspective of the observer next to the trailer, he and the ball will indeed arrive at point B together."
A. I would like to ask for clarification on this assumption. Why would the light ray actually arrive at point B at the same time? I just didn't understand.
on. It seems to me that there is a mistake there, and instead of "and the ball yes" it says: "and the light", right? The ball belongs to the previous experiment, and the word "yes" has no meaning.
Page 327:
You described the difference in effect between faces whose right half is smiling, and those whose left half is smiling, and you wrote: "This suggests that the right illustration (in the book) is the one that expresses more joy, since the smile there is perceived by our left eye (since we are standing in front of it)."
This is not accurate, as far as I know, and as appears in the link you mentioned there (on page 326): The left area of the face of the person standing in front of us is indeed processed in our right hemisphere, but it is not because it is perceived by the left eye, no.
The eyes perceive what is in front of them alternately. To illustrate, if four circles appear in front of me in the order A, B, C, D, then the right eye will perceive A and C, and the left eye will perceive B and D. The brain processing will be different, so that the right side of the brain will process B and D, and the left side A and B.
Therefore, instead of writing: "It follows that the right-hand illustration (name in the book) is the one that expresses more joy, since the smile there is perceived by our left eye," the author should say: "It follows that the right-hand illustration (name in the book) is the one that expresses more joy, since the smile there is processed in the right hemisphere." Right?

Thank you very much and have a good week!

A. If light behaves like a ball that you throw up, the speed of the cart is the horizontal speed of the ball, so it is always exactly above it, and when it comes back down it will come down to it again. B. Indeed. I don't see the essential difference. Here we are talking about two objects, not four. It is indeed true that the right eye also sees its left side, and perhaps they mean that this is why the alternating phenomenon is needed. It is possible..
