Rabbi Yosef Karo on the Ashkenazim.

שו"תRabbi Yosef Karo on the Ashkenazim.
שאל לפני 3 שנים

Hello.
I read in the book Abakt Rochel Siman Rive that Rabbi Yosef Karo claims that since the Sephardim were the first in the Land of Israel, the Ashkenazim who came later should abolish their custom and join the Sephardim custom, even if it is lenient.
He brings evidence from the extremes.
My question is: Is there a dissenting opinion? I suppose there is.
And what do you think?
I am attaching a link to the answer in the article "Akvak Rochel" (a sign of a quarrel).

This is a really funny question. You ask if there is a dissenting opinion. Just look around you and see how many Ashkenazim follow the author's instructions and Sephardic customs. I suppose you can deduce from this whether there is a dissenting opinion. In fact, location has long since ceased to be the determining parameter regarding customs. Even following the Shulchan Arba is practiced in the Sephardic faith, that is, by origin and not by location.
