The importance of history

Hello Rabbi Michi.
Why should I, as a Jew, follow the path of my ancestors and observe the law? After all: 1. There is no unequivocal way to prove that this is indeed the path of historical Judaism. 2. Even if we accept the assumption that Judaism has been expressed in practice throughout history by a small or large group in the law, the possibility that we are following errors is still not off the table.
What is so important in history?
