Torah study
Hello Rabbi
Does the Rabbi's method have any interest in studying the Daf Yomi? Ostensibly, the Talmud is a book written so that we can study and understand everything in depth.
Equally, is there any point in completing the Shas without a deep understanding?

There is definitely interest. Scope is useful for understanding depth. The question is also how one learns. I have often argued to students that the difference between study and proficiency is not essential. It is like the difference between a violent patrol and a regular patrol in the army. A regular patrol passes the axis and checks that everything is in order. If everything seems in order, they move on. A violent patrol shoots into every conversation to actively flood the problems. Studying proficiency is not necessarily more superficial. It addresses problems that arise and does not forcefully flood problems that are not visible at first glance. In proficiency, fewer books are usually opened, but this is not an essential criterion. You can study Gemara with Rashi in study and Gemara with all the commentators in proficiency. By the way, in my opinion there is some value in both, it all depends on the person.
