The one who is accused of the crime

שו"תThe one who is accused of the crime

Perhaps the entire prohibition against marrying the current convert is based on the fact that the conversion was for the sake of marriage and would be a disgrace to her and/or him. But while it is not defined as a disgrace, there is no such ruling at all.
Let people say what they will. In our times, it is not shameful and fundamentally inappropriate to impose a rule that initially should not be worn or that one should not convert.

What does the rabbi think about that?

The problem here is not what people think. Conversion for the sake of marriage is problematic regardless of what people think. Furthermore, conversion for the sake of marriage today is not valid at all, unlike what was in the past. In the past, even those who converted for the sake of marriage were clear that they had to fulfill a commandment and accepted it upon themselves. Today, this is not the case.
