Q&A: Analytic, Synthetic, and… Poetry…
Analytic, Synthetic, and… Poetry…
Question
Hello to Your Exalted Honor,
From devoted reading of your books, your articles, and the many posts, I think your central innovation can be framed (or at least one of them) in the analytic-synthetic distinction and the justification of the synthetic.
In general, most of your books express the justification of the synthetic, and almost all of your articles express the sharp use of analytic thinking. And how wonderful that we encounter both of these marvelous facets in you — and “do not let go of either one”!
I have a question: will we get to see a more emotional side? Actually, forget emotional (that’s a dirty word :)), I mean the side of poems and aphorisms. Even something like the poem you wrote about Korah. Could you grant us something more of that sort?
And forgive me for the illegitimate question…
Answer
I forgive you, as you asked. If the spirit comes upon me, I’ll write. It doesn’t come by prior planning.
