Hello Rabbi,
A practical question:
A.
I wanted to hear the Rabbi’s opinion, if he has one, regarding giving a hepatitis vaccine, as well as the full set of vaccines that the Ministry of Health recommends giving to a newborn baby.
The internet is in an uproar about this, and it’s hard to understand how to form an opinion amid all the confusion.
B.
The question is whether the right thing is to rely on the Ministry of Health and keep things simple by giving every vaccine they recommend, or whether it is my duty to really get into the issue and investigate and study it myself?
Answer
I’m not involved in this area and I don’t have information. As a rule, I tend to rely on the recommendations of the professional institutions. Usually, challenges to them are conspiracy theories and unfounded arguments. But of course, each case should be judged on its own merits.
