Between Meat and Milk
Question
Hello
The Talmud states that there is no need to wait between milk and meat, only between meat and milk, but it does not explicitly explain the length of time required.
According to Tosafot, one may have two consecutive meals: the first meat-based and the second dairy. Mar Ukva does not set any specific time period, but is satisfied with distinguishing between the meals.
Accordingly, I do not understand why one must make a distinction specifically between a meat meal and a dairy meal, and not also between a dairy meal and a meat meal.
Answer
That is apparently the custom, because of differences in digestion time.
