Q&A: Faith / Belief
Faith / Belief
Question
Hello Rabbi,
In your latest column you spoke about the conclusions you drew from the debate you had with Yaron Yadan a few weeks ago, and during the column you said that the basic assumption of Yaron Yadan and of Haredi Judaism is the same, considering that both start from the premise that the Talmud, including the words of the Sages, is sacred and cannot be mistaken, and that every claim or line of reasoning in it must always be correct. But you said that you do not accept that claim, and that in your view there can be mistakes in the Talmud. I would be happy if you could give an example of that, so I can understand exactly what you mean.
Thank you.
