Q&A: The World to Come
The World to Come
Question
Hello Rabbi Michi,
How likely do you think it is that in the World to Come, most Haredim, including their leadership, will find themselves— in terms of closeness to the Holy One, blessed be He— in the place they assign to the Religious Zionists? In other words, that it will turn out their entire outlook was based on a tremendous mistake?
Answer
I don’t understand matters of the World to Come. I do understand the question of how one ought to conduct oneself in this world.
Discussion on Answer
An error in outlook is not a sin. The claim against them could be because the error stems from negligence, lack of thought, and egoism. By the way, according to their own view, they do think that error is indeed a sin. Ask an average Haredi where gentiles, secular Jews, and Religious Zionists will be in the World to Come. Better plug your ears immediately after asking…

I don’t understand why an error in outlook is supposed to affect one’s state in the World to Come. If a person did whatever he could to clarify the truth, what can be demanded of him?
