“And keep your children away from higgayon” — Rashi explains: Do not accustom them to studying Scripture too much, because it is captivating.
Doesn’t this contradict what is written in Yoreh De’ah 246:4:
“A person is obligated to divide his learning into thirds: one-third in the Written Torah, meaning the twenty-four books, one-third in the Mishnah, etc.”
