A weekly sheet on the hermeneutical principles: ‘Middah Tovah’
To this holy community.
I would like to inform the members of our study hall about the existence of a Torah sheet that appears once a week and deals with the hermeneutical principles in the weekly Torah portions. The sheet goes by the name (if addressed politely): ‘Middah Tovah’.
This sheet is published by your faithful servant, the undersigned, together with my good friend, R. Gabi Chazut (a doctoral student in Talmud at the University of Haifa), who also finances the whole thing himself (and deserves the credit for it).
The sheet deals only with Torah, and it contains no advertisements of any kind: no Hasidic stories, no trips abroad or alternative healing with kosher certification, no color, and no politics. I also hope it contains no ‘homiletic snippets’.
The sheet is quite analytical, and it is hard to read during the prayer leader’s repetition of the Amidah. Most readers report that some quiet study time is needed for this (some of them do it regularly with a study partner), yet very supportive and encouraging responses are received from those who persevere.
We are happy to receive responses, and indeed we receive many of them. We also reply to everyone as best we can.
There is no financial aspect here at all, not even reimbursement of expenses.
The sheet is distributed in about a thousand synagogues throughout the country, though not in every synagogue (for lack of budget).
Anyone interested can receive the sheet, entirely free of charge, by e-mail every week. To do so, all you need to do is send a reasoned request to the editorial e-mail:

We welcome every additional subscriber, since because of the heavy expenses our eventual goal is to distribute the sheet only by e-mail.
